The annual Women's Football Day event was held at Jiangyin No 2 Middle School this year on March 8.
Sponsored by the Asian Football Confederation and Chinese Football Association, the event has been held every International Women's Day since 2015, aiming to encourage more women to participate in football activities, promote the development of women's football in China, and enrich women's football activities.
Shui Qingxia, the head coach of the Chinese women's football team, and five members of the women's football team shared tips on perseverance and a fighting spirit with young female football players and students during the event.
Wu Chengshu, a member of the Chinese women's football team who lifted the AFC Women's Asian Cup for the first time in 16 years one month ago, is also a graduate of Jiangyin No 2 Middle School.
Wu said she hoped young female football players at the school would work hard and strive to bring glory to Chinese women's football in the future.
A total of 61 schools in Jiangyin were named National Youth Campus Football Characteristic Schools, and seven graduates of Jiangyin No 2 Middle School have been selected as members of the national team.
